About Sova

What is Sova?

Sova is a new company spun off from Foundations Worldwide, Inc., dedicated to elevating and redefining the public washroom experience. Our changing stations are engineered for accessibility, built for safety, and designed to meet the demands of today’s high-traffic environments.

Why was Sova created?

Sova was launched to provide a focused, design-forward approach to public restroom solutions—meeting the evolving needs of caregivers, architects, facility managers, building owners, and construction professionals with greater precision and innovation.

Is Sova part of Foundations Worldwide?

Yes...and no. Foundations Worldwide, a leader in commercial-grade childcare products for decades, created Sova to take its public washroom category to the next level. While Foundations caters exclusively to children’s markets, Sova also offers products for adult markets. Sova now houses all of Foundations’ commercial changing stations and related products but is an entirely separate company with its own distinct customers and audiences. Sova products are available on Foundations platforms, however.

Product Design & Performance

What makes Sova changing stations different?

Every Sova product is reimagined from the hinges out. Designed with input from caregivers, parents, architects, and inclusion advocates, our stations prioritize dignity, comfort, and seamless integration as the standard—not the upgrade.

Where are Sova products made?

All Sova changing stations are proudly made in the USA using high-quality, commercial-grade materials.

Are Sova changing stations easy to clean and maintain?

Yes. Our products are engineered for durability in high-traffic environments, with thoughtfully designed components and surfaces that make cleaning fast and hassle-free and ensure years of low-maintenance durability. Check out our full cleaning guide here.

Do Sova products meet accessibility standards?

Absolutely. Our stations exceed ADA compliance and other key performance standards, helping facilities remain inclusive and up to code. Read more here.

Do Sova changing tables have a safety strap? What material is the safety strap?

Yes, all Sova changing stations have a safety strap that can be adjusted with one hand. It’s a durable nylon weave with a polyurethane coating to ensure easy, hygienic cleaning.

Installation & Applications

Do Sova changing stations come with mounting hardware included?

Yes, all changing stations come with the requisite screws, anchors, washers, and caps necessary to mount the changing station to a wall or studs. Many Sova changing stations also include the patented EZ Mount™ Backer Plate, which eliminates the need for structural blocking by ensuring secure attachment to two studs.

Will Sova products fit into my existing design?

Yes. Sova changing stations are intentionally designed to complement a range of public restroom aesthetics—from modern and minimalist to highly functional, high-traffic spaces.

Who are Sova products built for?

Our changing stations serve the needs of business owners, facility managers, architects, and contractors—while delivering comfort, safety, and convenience for the families and caregivers who use them every day.

Where can Sova stations be installed?

Sova products are ideal for public spaces of all kinds, including airports, retail environments, schools, restaurants, hotels, hospitals, stadiums, and more.

Product Types

What types of baby changing stations does Sova offer?

Sova offers the most comprehensive range of wall-mounted changing stations designed to meet the needs of various public washroom layouts. Our product line includes both horizontal and vertical units, as well as options in high-performance polyethylene and sleek stainless steel, with multiple extended-length options for older children and adults with disabilities who are too big for a baby changing station.

What’s the difference between horizontal and vertical changing stations?

Horizontal stations open along the long edge and provide a wide, spacious changing surface—ideal for larger restrooms or spaces with room to spare.

Vertical stations open along the short edge and extend outward from the wall—perfect for tighter or narrower spaces where space is at a premium. Both meet the same safety, comfort, and accessibility standards, although horizontal changing stations typically have a higher weight limit.

What is a universal changing table?

A universal changing table, also known as an adult changing table, provides safe, hygienic, and dignified access to public restrooms for individuals with disabilities or other medical needs who may not be able to use standard handicapped accessible restrooms. While baby changing tables are too small for older children and adults, universal changing tables provide safe and equitable restroom access to all. They are an essential step toward inclusion and equality and can transform the lives of millions of Americans with limited mobility or who need help with daily self-care.

What’s the difference between a universal changing station and a baby changing station?

A baby changing station is specifically designed for infants and toddlers—typically compact, wall-mounted units in public restrooms that are up to around 36 inches in length. They provide a safe, hygienic surface for diaper changes and often include features like straps, liners, or hooks.

A universal changing table, by contrast, is built to accommodate people of all ages and abilities. These larger, more robust tables support higher weight capacities (often up to 500 pounds), are sometimes height-adjustable or powered, and include extra safety and hygiene features like padded surfaces, side rails, and obstruction detection.

In short: baby stations help parents care for young children, while universal tables offer dignity and accessibility for individuals with disabilities and their caregivers—ensuring truly inclusive restroom facilities.

What are the material options for Sova changing stations?

Sova changing stations are available in two premium material finishes:

  • Durable polyethylene: Lightweight, impact-resistant, and easy to clean—perfect for high-traffic environments like schools, malls, and airports.
  • Brushed stainless steel: Sleek, modern, and exceptionally sturdy—ideal for upscale or design-driven public restrooms.

Both versions feature the same internal safety mechanisms, ADA compliance, and comfort features, with both surface and recessed mounting options.

Do all Sova changing stations meet the same safety and accessibility standards?

Yes. Regardless of style or material, every Sova changing station is built to exceed ADA, ASTM, and EN safety standards. All units are third-party tested and certified for performance, strength, and accessibility.

Are Sova stations available in different colors or finishes?

Yes. Sova polyethylene models come in up to five different design-friendly colors that suit a variety of restroom styles. Stainless steel models feature a clean, brushed finish that resists fingerprints and smudges. New in 2025, we are pleased to introduce a matte black stainless option.
